Graduation Ceremony
Graduation Ceremony at FAU WiSo
The FAU WiSo organises a graduation ceremony twice a year in the Lange Gasse building.
All doctoral candidates who have completed their doctoral thesis will receive an invitation and ask for your size for the gown and beret, which will be made available to you on loan.
It does not matter whether the dissertation has already been published or not. At the ceremony, you will not be presented with your doctoral degree certificate, but with a certificate confirming that you have passed the doctoral examination procedure. To receive the doctoral degree certificate, you must first publish your dissertation. In addition to the presentation of the certificates, the department’s doctoral prizes are awarded at the graduation ceremony.
Enjoy an afternoon centred around your graduation with your family, a keynote speech and a champagne reception afterwards.
For dates of already scheduled graduation ceremonies, please refer to the overview of the current PhD collection dates (PST): Documents and Service – Opening of the doctoral procedure.
In the FAU WiSo media portal you will find impressions and photos of the last graduation ceremonies.
Cross-faculty honoring of doctoral graduates and jubilarians at FAU
As part of the “Award ceremony for doctoral graduates and alumni”, FAU honors its new doctoral graduates once a year in a special way together with the doctoral jubilarians who received their doctorate 15, 25 and 50 years ago.
